Colombo, Dec. 29 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVB) will conduct two international-level volleyball tournaments in Colombo in 2024, SLVB Secretary A. S. Nalaka said today.

The SLVB will conduct these two tournaments with the aim of promoting the tourism industry in the country and the initial discussions are underway with the Sports Minister Harin Fernando.

The SLVB will host the FIVB Beach Future Men’s Volleyball Tournament in December and the South Asian Under-20 Men’s Tournament in August.

The FIVB Beach Future Tournament is a major international event and the SLVB is hoping to attract over 30 countries.

In addition, the SLVB will be hoping to conduct the inaugural South Asian Under-20 Volleyball Tournament as well.

This tournament will also be a talent search in preparation for the South Asian Games 2024.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka will participate in three Asian-level volleyball tournaments in 2024.

The Men’s and Women’s Senior National Squads in preparation for these tournaments will be formed in January-February.
