Sri Lanka to host ICC annual general meeting in Colombo

Colombo, Feb 01 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka is set to host the annual general meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) from July 19 to 22 this year in Colombo, Sports Minister Harin Fernando said.

He said that hosting the ICC AGM will significantly boost Sri Lanka's cricketing and tourism sectors.

Excellent. We look forward to welcoming them and spreading the beauty of this country through them. Let's hope Harin can pull the cricketers together after the fiasco that the former minister did. I hope the former minister learnt the lesson that the country taught Gotabaya too, that one cannot change things overnight however 'good' they may appear to be.

All cricket related meetings and conferences must be held in countries with cricketing culture. So, it is right Sri Lanka hosting this upcoming meeting. It boosts the countries’ cricketing and tourism image. We must stop Dubai, a desert land with no cricketing or any culture, which has succeeded in bribing senior officials and hosting most sports related conferences and boosting it’s ARTIFICIAL IMAGE.
