Sri Lanka suspends all flights to Middle East



Colombo, February 28 (Daily Mirror) - The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) has officially announced the immediate temporary suspension of all flights from Sri Lanka to destinations in the Middle East, citing the rapidly deteriorating military situation in the region.

Director General and CEO of CAASL, Damith Rambukwella, confirmed the decision following an emergency high-level meeting held today (February 28). 

The meeting brought together senior officials from SriLankan Airlines and FitsAir, as well as representatives from major regional carriers including Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai, Saudia, Oman Air, and Qatar Airways.
