Colombo, Sept. 3 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka claimed a four-wicket win over Zimbabwe in the first T20 International at Harare Sports Club on September 3, 2025, to go 1-0 up in the three-match series.

Opting to field first after winning the toss, Sri Lanka saw Zimbabwe post 175 for seven, led by Brian Bennett’s fluent 81 off 57 balls. Partnerships with Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl kept Zimbabwe on track, but late wickets prevented them from accelerating further.

Chasing 176, Sri Lanka reached the target with five balls to spare, finishing on 177 for six.

It's a impressive win. Remember, T20 is anybody's game. More often it's a one stroke or 2 stroke game. Today kamindu Mendis came through. In T20 game you need someone to score 20-22 runs in one over to turn the tide.

Kusal Perera, Dasun Shanaka , Theekshana, Nunawanidu should not be in the Team at all.. The useless bunch of SL Cricket..!

Don't be too harsh on some of the cricketers on whom you have commented. In cricket we have seen in the past excellent performances by these seniors and we must understand that there is a lean period even with top cricketers. What the cricket committe should do is rest these cricketers whose performances are below expectations in the recent past to hone their skills and thereafter mobilized once they have shown promise of performing. My question is it fair for you to throw brickbats at these cricketers sitting in the shade of the pavilion or those of us glued to our TV sets. When these seniors perform well you will scream your voice bringing down the ceiling but now your tarnishing their image. So control your tongue which can Bless and Curse at different times!!!!

Only a fool would leave them out. They have been playing excellently in the domestic league and other current matches. Don't be just a random cricket watcher.

If we continue with Dasun, Chamika,Theeksana,Nuwanidu and Kusal Perera will be a disaster for our Cricket..! and ignoring players like Janith liyanage and Chamindu Wickramasinghe is a question mark..???
