Sri Lanka expresses concerns over strikes on Qatar without naming Israel

In the wake of Israeli strikes on Doha targeting Hamas leaders, Sri Lanka has expressed solidarity with Qatar.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka Arun Hemachandra, in a telephone conversation today with the State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi, expressed Sri Lanka’s concerns regarding the recent strikes and conveyed the solidarity of the Government and the people of Sri Lanka, the Foreign Ministry said.

The telephone conversation took place at 11:30 am.

However, the Foreign Ministry didn't make any reference to Israel in the statement.
