Colombo,May 22 (Daily Mirror)- Health athuorities warn the public to stay alert as cases of dengue and chkiungunaya are increasing, driven by the current weather conditions that favour mosquito breeding.
Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (LRH) Consultant Paediatrician Dr. Deepal Perera said that symptoms of chikungunya include fever and severe joint pains, and in some cases, black marks may appear on the nose.
He advised the public to eliminate mosquito breeding sites to prevent the spread.
Dr. Perera also noted that chikungunya can significantly disrupt daily activities.
