Colombo, March 15 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Navy has carried out another successful deep-sea drug raid, apprehending five suspects and seizing a local multi-day fishing vessel carrying a suspected drug container off the southern coast near Dewundara.
The operation was executed based on a carefully planned intelligence assessment conducted jointly by the Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Coast Guard, and the Sri Lanka Police. The vessel and suspects were brought ashore for further investigation and legal proceedings.
The Navy said that this operation forms part of the broader national security initiative, Ratam Ekata, conducted in coordination with other law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking.
