I didn't know that Sri Lanka is a rich country to provide helicopters to UN mission

    Dee Friday, 12 January 2024 10:43 PM

You sure sounds like a NPP ‘Shahodaraya’ ! Absolutely clueless. May SL have the blessings of all types of gods with people such as you as voters!

    VJ Friday, 12 January 2024 11:08 PM

The UN pays for the deployment in full, including personnel, transportation of men and equipment, accommodation and ration etc.,

Once again Ranil Rajapaksa government will increase taxes to pay for the chopper. Jayawewa!

You guys said hooray, with all arms and legs wide open, voted again and again during 2006-2009 (for similar causes) look what it did to the country? Spread your arms and legs and say hooray as well! Our ‘forces’ haven’t changed! Thanks to you, they will be replaced by‘subversive elements’ after you vote in a new government!

The ship in the Red Sea will be sunk, we will be noted by the Yemeni people, who are closer to us than the American/Uk alliance. Our fishermen will be chased, when fishing in the Arabian Sea. So bad name all round, because Ranil Rajapaksa ego

Lakmal ... You don't know much about anything do you ? When a country embarks on a peacekeeping mission, The UN pays for everything. Salaries, food, fuel, vehicles, uniforms ... everything ! And these payments are very generous and it's all in US$.

Sam Silva Friday, 12 January 2024 10:58 PM

True the payments may be in usd or in gold. But our government do not use it for the country or for the people in the country but for themselves. So outcome is we are back to square one.

Sri Lanka is sending forces for UN peace keeping efforts for decades now. ළිංමැඬි JVPers as usual don't know about that. How many other things you guys don't know about Sri Lanka?

Nilmini Welivita Saturday, 13 January 2024 03:19 AM

This is what happens when you put illtrained pilots in expensive aircraft.

    Punchi Saturday, 13 January 2024 06:22 AM

The crash would not have happened if the helicopter was suitably blessed by the guardians of our land prior to deployment

    Sokrates Saturday, 13 January 2024 08:05 AM

@DEE. It looks like you are a strong bootlicker of the Rajapaksa mafia clan and an anti-democrat. Someone who supports the overstaffed Sri Lankan military made up of cowards and war criminals. Voters like you are responsible for Sri Lanka being down and bankrupt and still being run by the same criminal and corrupt scumbags.

    Dee Saturday, 13 January 2024 03:39 PM

How is the weather out there? When are you coming on a holiday to Sri Lanka? Glad that you found a economically better country to live in.

Will there be another Albania? Saturday, 13 January 2024 08:36 AM

Have we as a nation become hopeless of the rulers? Every comment indicates our helpless plight against corrupt rulers who enjoy life in ships with music and liquor! This happened in Albania with citizen resigned to the fancy of a dictator and his family until they suddenly rose up like the Aragalaya and chased the dictator away.

    European Saturday, 13 January 2024 11:35 AM

Albania is the most corrupt country in Europe nowadays.

    Hawkeye Saturday, 13 January 2024 12:32 PM

Sokrates - It has been proved time and again by your contemporaries that you are a senile old coot scratching and scraping a beggarly living in Canada. You are a doddering, vicious, virulent pathetic excuse for a human being who is driven by a pathological, hatred of Sri Lanka. Do all of us a favour ... don't comment on things that don't concern you.

    Sksirisena Saturday, 13 January 2024 01:42 PM

We must send a couple of our aircraft carriers to support the red sea operation. International commitments must be prioritized to help obtain more and more loans.

    Ravi Saturday, 13 January 2024 01:59 PM

How come? It’s an all weather helicopter

    Jesus Monday, 15 January 2024 06:55 AM

Very happy to hear this.. Finding it difficult to put 3 plates on the table.. Food for thought .
