Openers Pathum Nissanka and Dimuth Karunaratne scored half-centuries, as Sri Lanka reached 133 for 1 after 25 overs in their ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers match against United Arab Emirates.
The slow-starting Nissanka reached his fifty in 66 balls, and was unbeaten on 54 at the half-way stage of the Sri Lankan innings.
Karunaratne got to his half-century in 50 balls, but was dismissed after adding two more runs in the following over, the 17th of the innings, ending a 95-run partnership with Nissanka.
Kusal Mendis was not out on 21.
