Specialist neurosurgeon Dr. Maheshi’s daughter files motion seeking bail

Colombo, July 1 (Daily Mirror) - The daughter of Dr. Maheshi Surasinghe Wijerathna, a specialist neurosurgeon attached to the Sri Jayawardenapura General Hospital, has filed a bail application on her mother's behalf.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali Jayatunga ordered that submissions regarding the application be made on July 4, when proceedings related to the case filed by the Bribery Commission are scheduled to be heard.

President’s Counsel Maithri Gunaratne appeared on behalf of the suspect.
