Special train to Anuradhapura today

A special train will be in operation from Colombo Fort to Anuradhapura this morning for the convenience of the devotees who will visit to pay their last respects to Atamasthanadhipathi Most Ven. Dr. Pallegama Siriniwasa Nayaka Thera.

The special train left Colombo Fort at 4.40 am this morning is scheduled to leave Anuradhapura at 5.10 pm and reach Fort at 9.20 pm this night.

The train stop at Maradana, Ragama, Ganemulla, Gampaha, Veyangoda, Pallewela, Mirigama, Ambepussa, Alawwa, Polgahawela, Pothuhera, Kurunegala, Muttettugala, Wellawa, Ganewatta, Nagollagama, Maho junction, Ambanpola, Galgamuwa, Senarathgama, Thambuththegama, Thalawa, Srawasthipura, Anuradhapura new town and Anuradhapura. I hope it is not an Indian made locomotive that will be pulling the train. We don’t want breakdowns and the passengers need safety and comfort. Indians are buying locomotives from Brazil and we are buying locomotives from India, all our ministers are corrupt.

I am at a loss to understand why people from far away places should visit A'pura to pay last respects. Pardon me for saying, but I am of the opinion that one cannot pay respects to an individual when that individual is dead. Whatever respects need to paid need to be paid when any individual is alive.

@aravinda The Canadian engines imported in the 50's are still in running condition. They are real work horses. Even now you could buy them but you must have that amount of $ in your purse. Appreciate the fact that Indian locomotives were imported under their credit line and they does 120kmph in the northern track beyond Vavuniya. Also remember the simple fact.....beggars have no choice.
