Special holiday for Muslim schools on Friday

The Education Ministry has decided to declare a special holiday for all Muslim schools this Friday (30 June).

The decision was taken due to the Haj festival day (Eid ul Adha) falling on Thursday (29).

However, in view of the special school holiday, the Ministry announced it would hold an extra school day on July 8 (Saturday). (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
