Highly placed security sources told Daily Mirror that security has been beefed up in Colombo and its surrounding areas following an intelligence report that IUSF students were planning to march into the city in their hundreds over the weekend to take over key government institutions and launch a fresh ’Aragalaya’ against the government.
Following intelligence information received later this week, security was heightened outside the Colombo University premises and several other areas in the city to prevent such a threat.
Police said that by Saturday evening police checkpoints and barricades had also been put up in the entry points into Colombo as security was heightened. (JAMILA HUSAIN)

Has their leader been able to successfuly complete his course and graduate as yet? Or is he still not passing to stay around and create chaos. If they cannot complete and graduate after a specified not of year their courses should be terminated and them sent home.

Ranil is so sacred of protest like scale of Aragalaya...so he will take all measures to stop this happening...but I think it is better for the country not to have any protest right now as economy is recovering slowly...please give him a chance to see what is going to do ...he needs some time to do something on economy..he is clever enough to do something on economy...He is the best option among all now ..AKD is good but he would not be able to get international support and help..we are living in a capitalist world and we need to go with the international trend ...let it be this a last chance for Ranil ...

Some of the comments above are unbelievable. For example IUSF is the biggest curse , what about Rajapaksa s and RW , can anyone be worst. We Sri Lankan from all iover world must understand that RW is a temporary solution, he will never win an election and never eradicate corruption. So we need to have an election and appoint Parliment for 5 years. Every day we delay we are going backwards. Pl note all foreign govt will work with any leader , they don’t care if it’s RW or AKD , they are interested in the country , not in individuals. You saw how they went behind Sira. Pl understand these two matters, educate others.

These are the guys who are waisting their time, tax money and depriving opportunities for other deserving students whose parents have to spend a lot of money for their education. These IUSF students are really destroying the higher education. JVP is behind them and that is why we do not have a single scientist or a renown world class entrepreneur or even a good politicians. All what they do during their university years is this kind of destructive activities.

Initially Aragalaya was launched to chase away all corrupt rulers. SL economy was in dire state. It was a success. Even Sajith was hooted when he made a visit to show his face. But now, we have to admit that the situation has greatly improved, Now, a new Aragalaya is for king's seat. Those corrupt elements who were chased away are trying to come back to power, to regain all privileges they lost. They are trying to use Aragalaya as the Trojan horse. This should not be allowed. IUSF should not become a tool in their hands.
