Six suspects arrested for attempting to sell anti-tank missile

Six persons were apprehended for allegedly attempting to sell old anti-tank missiles used during the war in the Puthukudiyiruppu area in Mullaitivu yesterday (5), Police said.
 
The Puthukudiyiruppu police said, two anti-tank missiles weighing 400 kg were set to be sold to a third party.
 
However, the reason behind the move to sell the ammunition is yet to be ascertained and investigations are being carried out by the police.
 
The suspects who have been identified as residents of Puthukudiyiruppu are to be produced before the Mankulam court. (Romesh Madushanka)
