’Sisu Sariya’ bus service: Govt. to charge 30% of fare from parents

A proposal has been tabled for the government to provide 70 per cent of the cost of the “Sisu Seriya” school bus service and the balance 30 per cent of the fare to be charged from the parents, Cabinet spokesman Minister Bandula Gunawardana said.

He said the government is unable to sustain the cost of the service due to the current economic constraints.

We are a nation of free riders! We want everything free. Education up to degree level, Books, Uniforms, Schoolbags, Mid day meals. You name it and we have it. Some students do not want grow up and leave for jobs, because they will lose free meals. Look at some like Mudalige! How many years are they in campus? But these students have money for other luxuries, even drugs. What a waste!

Agreed, wholeheartedly THE POLITICIANS, PARTLY INSTRUMENTAL, making economy worse, to go BANKRUPT – instead of, “VISTAS OF PROSPERITY AND SPLEDOUR”!!?? Unfortunately went up in ‘SMOKE’!!!??? However, the Citizenry, the Voters and Public at large were also EQUALLY CULPABLE to think that the state could provide everything 'FREE', including Health, Education (K-12 Degree) and Transport to school and back!!!?? Add to this NO PAYEE TAX and REDUCTION ON INDIRECT (VAT) taxes, Panacea offered, secure GR's election 2019 followed by GE 2020!!!?? DISASTER with NONE to FINANCE the GAP!!?? This was the result of Voters (all Sri Lankan's - 6.9 million) of MATURE AGE UNDOUBTEDLY, who demonstrated the TOTAL absence of "MATURITY OF THOUGHT", in them!!?? Demonstration – NON-EXISTANT commodity – Sri Lankan Emancipation!!?? (ELEDTORATE as well as THE POLITY) inspired by 2600 years of civilisation!!??

Good. Else the cost they would have had to incur on the bus fare which was not charged would be paid towards private Tution , which in turn is a major tax evading scam! Govt looses from all angles.
