Colombo, April 29 (Daily Mirror) - Due to the effect of the Intertropical Convergence Zone, heavy showers above 100 mm will occur in most provinces of the island after 1 p.m., the forecasting division of the National Meteorological Centre said.
The Intertropical Convergence Zone is where winds from the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere converge.
They said heavy showers of 100mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and North-Western Provinces.
Meanwhile, showers may occur at several places in the coastal areas of the Eastern and Southern Provinces and in the Mullaitivu district during the morning.
However, misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces during the morning.
