Showers above 75mm on the cards, strong winds forecast



Colombo, March 10 (Daily Mirror) - The Department of Meteorology has issued a weather advisory predicting showers across multiple regions of the country, with fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75mm expected in several provinces.  

According to the forecast, the Northern, Eastern, Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Western and Uva Provinces, along with the districts of Galle, Matara, Matale, Nuwara-Eliya and Polonnaruwa, are likely to experience significant rainfall during the afternoon or night.  

Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers are expected at times in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva Provinces, as well as in the districts of Matale, Nuwara-Eliya and Hambantota.  

In addition, fairly strong winds ranging between 30-40 kmph are anticipated in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern and North-Western Provinces, as well as in the Matale, Nuwara-Eliya, Moneragala and Hambantota districts.
