Shooting in Kilinochchi leaves one injured

A shooting incident that took place at Udaya Nagar in Kilinochchi this morning has left one person injured and subsequently hospitalized.

According to the police, two individuals on a motorcycle had fired shots at a group of people travelling in a car.

The driver of the car, aged 38, sustained injuries from the shooting and has been admitted to the Kilinochchi Hospital for treatment.

Initial investigations conducted by the police reveal that the shooting incident was a result of retaliation related to an alleged dispute involving the victim and two other individuals during their car journey to the Kanakapuram area.

The Kilinochchi Police are carrying out further investigations to apprehend the suspects responsible for the shooting.
