Shooting in Gampaha injures two

Gampaha, March 8 (Daily Mirror)- Two persons were injured and hospitalised after two persons on a motorcycle opened fire at him at Akkarawita in Gampaha.

Police said the shooting was reported near a motorcycle spare parts shop and the injured persons were admitted to the Gampaha Hospital.

Investigations are underway to arrest the suspects.

Crimes especially shooting has been on the rise in the recent past. NPP govt has been very slow to arrest this issue. Instead of accusing the Opposition parties claiming that they are instigating such acts, the govt take every step to control this issue by planting plain clothes Police personnels/CID in civils to patrol areas where there's not much people movements. This move may not achieve the purpose in full but to some extent can reduce the crimes.
