Shammi obtains enjoining order against Roshan Ranasinghe

Colombo, May 21 (Daily Mirror) - The Colombo District Court issued an enjoining order preventing former Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe from making defamatory statements against Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), its President Shammi Silva and its Secretary. The order will remain in effect till June 3.

District Court Judge Sandun Vithana issued the order following a plaint filed by SLC President Shammi Silva and the Secretary of the organisation.

In their submission, the plaintiffs alleged that the former Minister made a false statement to the media on May 5, 2025, at the Kaduwela District Court premises, regarding the alleged misuse of SLC funds.

President's Counsel Chandaka Jayasundara instructed by Attorney-at-Law Sanjaya Fonseka appeared for the plaintiffs.
