Severe lightning warning issued for 18 districts

Colombo,April 25 (Daily Mirror)- A severe lightning warning has been issued for 18 districts, valid for 11 pm today, the Meteorology Department said.

They said that a high-level red alert has been issued for the Hambantota, Ratnapura, Moneragala, Ampara, Badulla, Nuwara Eliya, Kegalle, Kandy, Matale, Batticaloa, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Trincomalee, Vavuniya, Mannar, Mullativu, Kilinochchi and Jaffna districts.

The public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimise damage caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
