Nimal Siripala will have to walk the talk made yesterday, if he was serious. Otherwise, don't make stupid statements and aggregate issues.

    Kenth Tuesday, 27 February 2024 04:06 PM

He knows only open mouth and sleep. What else you should have expected from him ?ha ha

Nirmala Perera Tuesday, 27 February 2024 04:54 PM

I never ever recommend SriLankan Airlines to anyone. It's more than 7 months and I didn't get my refund. So disappointed about them. Only once never again Stupid Airlines.

    Disgusted Tuesday, 27 February 2024 03:31 PM

Why were they cancelled ? These idiots must give the complete news instead of keeping the reader guessing !

Vadivelu Yogaratnam Tuesday, 27 February 2024 03:51 PM

Why not handover to Rajapaksa's brother-in-law like before will run the airline beautifully ha,ha,ha.

    ANNECUNT Tuesday, 27 February 2024 04:08 PM

    Nimal Siripala must resign now

Vote Dump Politicians Wednesday, 28 February 2024 06:07 AM

Correct. A stupid, useless person and behaving like a fool! Initially acting tough but soon after running away like a rat. These bunch of old, uneducated idiots MUST be removed if Sri Lankan’s want to see progress for their children. If not, let your Children suffer too.

Why cancelled? Tuesday, 27 February 2024 04:12 PM

No reason report why it was canceled!

Harsha Wijewardene Tuesday, 27 February 2024 04:56 PM

Corrupt chairman and corrupt minister are destroying the airline.

Kabir Hashim Tuesday, 27 February 2024 04:57 PM

Waste of paradise, full of politicians stooges mostly lazy and rude.

Shalani Tharaka Tuesday, 27 February 2024 04:58 PM

Worst airline ever. Uncle Jayantha Dharmadasa could have done better.

    BuffaloaCitizen Tuesday, 27 February 2024 05:19 PM

Long due, close down this airline. The laziness of this countries citizens and leaders are the result of the gradual bankruptcy of this nation. The carnival is still going on.

Just saying that the flights are cancelled would not suffice there should be reasons given to the passengers and alternative arrangements made to ensure the flight plans of these passengers are not disrupted and if this Minister cannot tackle this situation he should give someone else who has leadership skills to bring about a settlement to this matter. The utterances of this Minister is like a square peg in a round hole!!!!!!!

Tissa Fernando Tuesday, 27 February 2024 05:24 PM

Looks like sone people are trying very hard to hand over the Airports to foreign companies. Minister is purposely doing it so the public will not mind the handover . Whoever who is behind this , is backed up by those who want to acquire the management rights of the Air Port.

Mark anandappa Tuesday, 27 February 2024 05:53 PM

This Minister was just making a statement for the Media. Cannot expect the airline to come good with this situation

    Mfb Tuesday, 27 February 2024 06:03 PM

It’s high time to sell the airline before it’s too late. The only airline with no owned aircraft’s.

    Nimal Tuesday, 27 February 2024 06:16 PM

More delays that have become the hallmark of our once proud, (though cash guzzling), national airline. This is the immediate aftermath of the discussions with the minister in charge. The day is not far when this airline will be grounded for good.

    Aran Tuesday, 27 February 2024 07:36 PM

Why the CEO Mr Nuttel is silent these days. Once he said that flight delays are common and why people making a big fuss. Inefficiency has creeped nto the entity.

NV Jen Tuesday, 27 February 2024 07:51 PM

The end is inevitable. Thanks to Mahinda Rajapakse's arrogance that scuttled the Emirates agreement and stuffed the airline with his stooges, that started the downfall.

    Nimal Wednesday, 28 February 2024 05:55 AM

These stooges include his notorious brother in law as well, who has the proud distinction of becoming the guy who started it all.

    Sambo Tuesday, 27 February 2024 08:26 PM

Close down the Sri Sri Lankan instead of inconveniencing the passengers and adding more shame on the country. This country is being run by a group of psychopaths.

    Sammy Tuesday, 27 February 2024 11:30 PM

Sri Lankan Airlines is not only inefficient but is getting scarier.

    Mahila Wednesday, 28 February 2024 02:46 AM

One has to consume REASONS to drive away 'PANGS OF HUNGER'!!?? Present, Crazy Sri Lanka!!?? Honourable Minister Nimal Siripala Continues to Sleep and ‘NOD’, few time a day happily!!?? What for the Telling???? SWELL, AND NICE!!??

    Rishan Wednesday, 28 February 2024 04:57 AM

So now passengers will never book srilankan airlines flights till things comes to normal. Obviously srilankan will loose considerable amount of business ..... whose fault ???? Let srilankan management and unions and staff thinks....

    Dee Wednesday, 28 February 2024 06:15 AM

This airline cannot continue with the unions and most of the present staff. No one will ever take over. It’s a big burden on the economy.

navratne willamune Wednesday, 28 February 2024 09:19 AM

pathetic, all good memories the tourists had after having their holiday in SL will be erased by the bad experience at the exit point. the officers don't realise before they come to the exit gates ,they have spent hours traveling and staying in the airpot with minimum provisions

Mahes Silva Wednesday, 28 February 2024 08:22 PM

Ashok Pathirage the Chairman of Sri Lankan is also a square peg in a round hole! He is a businessman alright, but with xzero experience in aviation, especially a troubled carrier like UL. Besides, is he fully focused in the management of UL with a part of his businesses also in financial trouble.
