Second reading of Money Laundering Amendment Bill approved by two-thirds majority



Colombo, July 9 (Daily Mirror) - The second reading of the Money Laundering Amendment Bill was approved by a majority of 152 votes in Parliament today. 

Some 154 members voted in favour while MPs Gejendrakumar Ponnambalam and A. Adeskramathan voted against. 

Leader of the House Bimal Rathnayake announced that the Bill will have to be approved by a special majority as per the order of the Supreme Court.
