Seat belts made mandatory for all expressway passengers from today

Colombo, September 1 (Daily Mirror) - Wearing seat belts has been made compulsory for all passengers traveling in vehicles on expressways from today, the National Council for Road Safety said.

Its Chairman, Manjula Kularatne, said that legal action will be taken against those who fail to comply with the new regulation.

He further noted that a three-month grace period will be granted for vehicles that are not currently fitted with seat belts, allowing time for installation.
