School bus accident in Beligalla injures 16 students
Colombo, July 23 (Daily Mirror) - A bus carrying schoolchildren veered off the Beliatta–Weeraketiya road near Beligalla this morning, injuring at least 16 students.
According to police, the vehicle left the roadway and collided with an embankment before coming to a stop.
All injured students were initially transported to Beligalla Hospital for treatment. while several of the injured have since been discharged.
About 13 children remain under medical care across multiple facilities, including Beliatta, Beligalla, Tangalle, and Weeraketiya hospitals.
