Sampath Manamperi announces plan to surrender before court

Colombo, September 15 (Daily Mirror)- Sampath Manamperi, who is wanted in connection with the discovery of two containers of chemicals suspected to be used in the manufacture of the drug “Ice” in the Middeniya area, today informed the Court of Appeal through his lawyer that he intends to surrender before the Magistrate’s Court.

Taking the facts into consideration, the Court of Appeal ordered the IGP to take steps to ensure the safety of Sampath Manamperi following his surrender and further directed that the investigating officers be duly informed in this regard.

The Court of Appeal issued this order after considering a writ petition filed by Sampath Manamperi, who is currently wanted for arrest.
