Colombo, May 7 (Daily Mirror) - Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa today announced his willingness to respect the people's verdict and expressed readiness to cooperate with the other opposition parties.

"I am prepared to bow to the people's verdict and work towards forming local bodies that will ensure transparent and effective service delivery to the public," Premadasa stated in a special address.

He further emphasised a collaborative approach to politics, saying, "I am ready to cooperate with other opposition parties rather than engage in confrontational politics."

Fair election result. Clearly shows the peoples will. Irrespective of Political Party, all local councils must strive to serve the people and not themselves. National and local politicians who govern must place the interest of the common person and the interest of the country first, and develop the entire nation. The nation must be self sustainable, that way no superpower can dictate terms to smaller and developing nations. The NPP has clear goals, targets, and aspirations. The population must place the trust in their efforts and give them reasonable time to perform. Only time will tell, and if they fail, the people can decide.

U have to join hands with the UNP n SLFP . You can see in 6 months their popularity has dropped tremendously and that would have been much more had u teamed up after the last election.
