Sajith to contest for presidency

SJB Parliamentary group decided that Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa should contest for the presidency, MP Mujibur Rahman told Daily Mirror today.

Mr. Rahman said it was a unanimous decision taken by the group after a lengthy discussion held at the opposition leader' s office this evening.

Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella earlier said the SJB was making an effort to put forward a candidate for presidency with the support of all opposition MPs. (Yohan Perera)
