Sajith prevented from active participation in COPF

Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa was prevented from active participation in the Committee on Public Finance (COPF) as the majority of members in the committee decided he can only observe.

Ten members of the COPF voted in favour of the proposal that the Leader of the Opposition could only observe and cannot participate actively, a member of the committee told the Daily Mirror.

However, Sajith Premadasa remained in the room but only as an observer. (Yohan Perera)

Pitty that he could not use his knowledge of big words in english and his little knowledge of economics and try to show off in front of the learned audiance, even if it meant undermining the COPF Chair who is from his own party. He must be a very disappointed man as all his prophecies of the big calamity that was about to unfold has gone up in smoke after the details of the DDO has been released. It would have been much smarter to wait until the details were finalised and then open his mouth.

The government representatives on COPF committee are extremely poor and not knowledgeable in finance! That is the reason the committee is not successful in making constructive recommendations!
