Colombo, Feb 13 (Daily Mirror) - Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa has to lead the broader opposition alliance as he leads the largest opposition party at the moment, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara said today.

Yes indeed. The UNP could not get more than 200,000 votes all over the country excluding the CWC and the NDF votes. To hide that the UNP want to hang on to some other party and protect their gentleman dealers, rogues and thieves. The UNP, the party which cannot get 0.2 M votes, now dictate terms to the SJB which got nearly 2 M votes to accept their proposals of a leadership council (a failed system of the UNP), a common symbol and a party and an acceptable secretary to it, by the 10th of February. The SJB leadership must be crazy and consist of lunatics to accept their proposals. NPP never had any coalition with any party or any government member and got 159. It is a fact, indeed. So, the UNP shall contest under the telephone symbol, if they want to cover their total disability through the SJB, as last time under the NDF unless the UNP leadership is given to Sajith, as the first step.

Theoretically yes. SJB is the largest opposition party now in the parliament. But the critical question is, is its leader the best person to lead our next government. What is the profound quality in him that makes him the most suitable person? Is he better than Ranil? Is he better than Harsha? Is he better than even Kanchana? The list is endless. All these people have recently delivered substantial services to the nation. What has Mr Premadasa delivered? Except for a few smart boards and a buses to the schools his only delivery is painstakingly meaningless long speeches that no one understands (or remember) and the urge that they create in us to switch the channels! There may be some SJBers who promote him for personal reasons but surely the majority knows this gentleman is no presidential material. It will be a national tragedy if we are forced to elect him if AKD and his government fails.

Is this man doing well? I hope all is good with him. However, everyone is aware of Sajith's identity. Buruwek can be in charge of another group of donkeys or buruwo. However, I don't believe they are capable of leading UNP. The UNP is comparable to a sleeping giant. Watch and see. Soon, you will witness wonders.

This broader alliance should be something cleaner one , which associated with corruption free politicians if there are any, otherwise that won’t make any pressure on NPP, which is sworn to eliminate corruption from the country ,unlike Yahapalanaya, this time quite a number of corrupt politicians will go to jail

B O A just a different version extending perhaps upto the Sea of Sri Lanka by the same old rejected aging cronies now fit for the elders' homes who formed a strong opposition alliance prior to the last election as proof they were never going to win and ending up in the current parliament akin to a flat tubeless tyre. The new strategy could be based on the newly designed political musical "revolving' chairs game to move in the opposite direction disrupting the scramble for seats hoping to have a final "rotten mixed fruit cordial" GET TOGETHER perhaps on the subject WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VILLAGE/S and how to complete them
