Colombo, Dec. 17 (Daily Mirror)- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa discussed Sri Lanka's issues pertaining to the disaster situation with UN Resident Coordinator Mark Andre Franche today.

The Opposition Leader's office said Premadasa also discussed economic and social issues with the UN representative.

Honestly the SJB is doing politics with this national calamity. Indirectly he's discouraging foreign countries helping Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka now needs a new honest clean center right political party to challenge the NPP. It's very unlikely that voters would ever vote for Ranil or Sajith.

In the wake of the devastation caused by the Ditwar cyclone, there is an urgent moral imperative for accountability and restitution. We must appeal to the UN Resident Coordinator to urge the Leader of the Opposition, Sajith Premadasa, to respond transparently to longstanding allegations regarding funds—running into a billion rupees or more—allegedly misappropriated during his tenure as a minister in 2015 from the Cultural Triangle project. This moment of national calamity demands more than hollow rhetoric. It calls for decisive action. All politicians, irrespective of party or position, who are accused of having amassed ill-gotten wealth through mega corruption during their years in office, must come forward to return or repatriate such funds to the public treasury. When the nation is bleeding, silence and denial are no longer acceptable. This is the time for truth, accountability, and restitution—so that stolen public wealth can be redirected towards rebuilding lives.
