Sajith appoints committee of Parliamentarians to probe terror in health sector
Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa has appointed a committee comprising several MPs to look into issues pertaining to various sectors and to come up with possible solutions, the Opposition Leader’s office said.
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Kavinda Jayawardene said he, Lakshman Kiriella, Mayantha Dissanayake, Gayantha Karunatilaka are included in the committee appointed by the Leader of the Opposition.
“The Leader of the Opposition has created history and become the first Opposition Leader to appoint a parliamentary committee,” a statement from the
Opposition Leader’s office said.
Premadasa who was speaking after the appointment of the committee said there is terrorism in the health sector today.
“There is a terror created by certain forces in the health sector today. It is essential to probe into and expose the truth to the people,” he said.
Several union members representing the health sector participated in the event which was held at the Parliamentary complex. (Yohan Perera)
