STF sergeant among two killed in Giriulla clash

Two persons including a Police Special Task Force (STF) sergeant had died when they were attacked with sharp weapons during a clash between two unruly groups at Udiawala in Giriulla last night.

Police said the two were pronounced dead after being admitted to the Dambadeniya Hospital.

Investigations revealed that a clash erupted due to a personal dispute between the two groups.

The deceased were residents of Dambadeniya aged 41 and 39.

The Giriulla Police is conducting further investigations to arrest the perpetrators. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
