Colombo, April 7 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has announced that a special bus service will be operated from April 9 to facilitate passengers travelling to their hometowns for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
Issuing a statement, the SLTB said the outbound special bus service will operate from April 9 to 13, while return services from outstation areas to Colombo will be in operation from April 17 to 21.
The Board said that around 250 additional buses will be deployed for daily services, particularly to remote areas, with further services to be introduced depending on passenger demand.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Railways said that special train services will be launched from April 10 in view of the festive season.
Accordingly, additional trains will operate alongside regular services on the Coastal Line, Northern Line, and Main Line, the Department added.
