SLPP will ensure RW won’t face same fate as Gota

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will ensure that what happened to former president Gotabaya Rajapaksa would not happen to President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Parliamentarian Mahindananda Aluthgamage said today.

He said Gotabaya Rajapaksa invited opposition leader Sajith Premadasa to take up the challenge but he did not have the guts to do so.

He said it was only Ranil Wickremesinghe who had come forward and taken up the challenge at the difficult time and added that he had created a country where everyone can live freely.

"We as the SLPP, will provide our assistance to take forward this development programme. We will not allow what happened to Gotabaya Rajapaksa to happen to Ranil Wickremesinghe. This is not a political issue. This is an issue involving the peoples' lives. We can do politics during election time,' he said. (Ajith Siriwardana)

Does the MP Aluthgamage from the SLPP want to predetermine the coming elections in the style of old political machinations with this undemocratic, senseless, but also not without danger towards the people of Sri Lanka !!! So the SLPP MPs will save neither their "own head" nor that of their "beloved" President! In the next elections, Sri Lanka's voters will, despite some positive development tendencies, "mercilessly" settle accounts with the rulers and remember the past years! The country wants a real new start on the basis of a real democracy with responsible politicians who respect the rights of all citizens, eliminate corruption and lead the economy on a solid basis into the future! This requires a strong President who is respected in every respect and supported by the people!
