Colombo, May 10 (Daily Mirror)- The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) is ready for the Presidential eletion but they are yet to find a candidate for the presidency, SLPP founder Basil Rajapaksa said today.
He told reporters after opening its election office that President Ranil Wickremesinghe will declare his stance on the elction by June 18 and said it will be even earlier after the conclusion of the Indian election.
When asked whether the SLPP would support President Wickremesinghe, he said the party would decide whether to support him or not.

Still pohottuwa can get around 2 to 3 million votes minimum. Some are underestimating the core voter base. Probably Namal or Shashindra will contest if the presidential election is held. Latter may get more votes than Namal. If general election is held first they will still get around 20 to 30 seats.

Don’t be surprised he succeeds! Voter’s mentality is very low in SL to as seen over the years and may continue again. Just give some freebies for around Rs4000/- for each voter during elections rallies and they will milk them off in the next 5 years of around Rs400k per person!
