How funds relates to slc spent on other sports. This is very wrong. Already a sacked slc board making payments is wrong. Also slc is banned by icc so how can these guys spend like this. Corruption at the higest level. What happend to the action taken by parliment.

SLC funds should be used to uplift rural school junior cricket and invest on provincial cricket tournament to find rural talents and uplift the game. Not to felicitations of other sports.

    What a circus Friday, 17 November 2023 06:30 PM

They have to recognize medallists from other sports to give awards whereas their own players cannot get any medal or a trophy. They should have at least come to SF in the WC. Dishing out money freely to get the affection of them and country to stay in their posts.

What authority has Shammi Silva over disbursements of funds of SLC? Is he doing this merely to be hailed by those who are gunning for his head? Do those in authority at SLC have the sole authority to make cash payments as they please? We need some serious clarification on this.

SLC trying to show how good they are. Essentially this is a corrupt practice by inducement to unrelated parties. Does the SLC constitution allow this payment to those not involved in cricket.

Rajiv De Silva Friday, 17 November 2023 07:20 PM

Something is not right. Funds to develop cricket is been spent on other sports.

With their days numbered, will make sure the kitty is emptied before they leave.

    A Silly Point Friday, 17 November 2023 08:18 PM

Corrupt SLC Executives steal millions of US dollars and donate a few million SLRs to show the people they are good people. If SLC really cares about cricket in Sri Lanka, they would support schools in Sri Lanka to improve cricket. If ICC has suspended SLC, how can SLC Executives make financial decisions?

    Onlooker Friday, 17 November 2023 11:03 PM

How did they pay millions if as the liar Harin said that Harin Fernando said even ground boys cannot be paid their salaries because of the ICC suspension. Then how did the SLC pay the athletes millions today for getting medals and said it is for their CSR obligation.

Ah, it seems SLC is throwing a cash party, making it rain rupees for the Asian Games medal winners! With those generous awards, it looks like they've hit a financial sixer or maybe want to CHAKA BLAST before someone decides to take over the account! But hold on, where's the promised GANGARAMA remaining money? Shammi, the Chief of Malwathu, must be eagerly awaiting to see where those funds disappeared amidst this grand celebration.

    Nithithiya Saturday, 18 November 2023 09:10 AM

What did Shammi, Jayantha, Salani and another get for their MEDALS?

SLC must also grant cash awards to players and everyone associated with the Sri Lankan team which set up 4 world records during the 2023 World Cup. The world records set up by the SL Cricket Team are No. 1. By being the team all out for the lowest score of 55 runs. No 2. The team that dropped the highest number of catches in this World Cup. No 3. For having the first player to be declared 'Timed Out' in an international cricket match. No 4. The team which set up the highest number of world records during a World Cup Tournament. These are magnificent achievements. Cash awards of US$ 1.0 million must be granted to each of our honest and hardworking Executives of SLC, brilliant members of the Selection Committee, Coaches and Consultants, and all the players. This award ceremony must be a National Event that is telecast and awards should be handed over by His Excellency the President Ranil Wickremasinghe. Mr. Ajay Shah of BCCI should be invited as the Chief Guest.
