SLAP hosts networking forum to empower regional printers



Colombo, Jan. 20 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Association of Printers (SLAP), in collaboration with the Vavuniya District Printers Owners Co-Operative Society, successfully conducted a Strategic Networking Forum on 18th January 2025 in Vavuniya, marking another important milestone in SLAP’s mission to strengthen and unify the printing industry across the country.

The forum was held under the leadership of SLAP President, Eng. Janaka Rathnakumara, and 1st VP Nishantha Pererà, 2nd VP Senthilnathan and Executive committee members with the primary objective of building strong partnerships between national and regional printers, encouraging SLAP membership, and empowering regional printing enterprises to actively participate in the national printing ecosystem.

This strategic engagement provided an open platform for constructive dialogue, knowledge sharing, and relationship building between SLAP leadership and printers in the Northern Province. Discussions focused on industry challenges, opportunities for collaboration, access to resources, skill development, and the role of SLAP in supporting sustainable growth for regional printers.

Addressing the gathering, Eng. Janaka Rathnakumara emphasized SLAP’s commitment to inclusive industry development, highlighting that regional printers are a vital pillar of Sri Lanka’s printing sector. He reiterated SLAP’s vision to ensure equal access to industry knowledge, representation, policy advocacy, and commercial opportunities for printers across all regions of the country.

The forum also served as a platform to introduce SLAP’s strategic initiatives, membership benefits, and future plans aimed at improving industry standards, promoting innovation, and strengthening collective bargaining power. Members of the Vavuniya District Printers Owners Co-Op Society expressed strong interest in closer collaboration with SLAP and welcomed the initiative as a timely step toward regional industry upliftment.

This Strategic Networking Forum reflects SLAP’s ongoing efforts to bridge regional gaps, develop long-term partnerships, and build a strong, connected, and future-ready printing industry in Sri Lanka.
