Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) are on standby to deploy aircraft and related personnel to provide relief and rescue operations in the event of possible floods and landslides in several parts of the country due to the adverse weather conditions.

Also, a Bell 212 helicopter and one Bell 412 helicopter at Ratmalana Air Force Base, MI17 Helicopter, 02 Bell 212 Helicopter at Hingurakgoda Air Force Base and one Bell 212 Helicopter at Palaly Air Force Base, An MI-17 Helicopter at Anuradhapura Air Force Base, an MI17 Helicopter at Weerawila Air Force Base and a Y12 Aircraft at Ampara Air Force Base are currently on standby to provide relief along with Special Forces personnel as well as rescue personnel of the Air Force.
