Claiming that India had spent only USD 263 million for the launching of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said today that Sri Lanka had spent USD 320 million for the launch of SupremeSAT in 2012.
He told Parliament that India was successful in launching the Chandrayaan-3 after three attempts of Chandrayaan-1, Chandrayaan-2 and Chandrayaan-3 in 2008, 2019 and 2023 and said that for all three attempts only USD 263 million had been spent.
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa urged the government to submit a report to Parliament regarding the massive expenditure on SupremeSAT and the success of the project.
"We have plunged down as a country after the launch of the satellite in Sri Lanka instead of landing on the moon," he said.
Leader of the House Susil Premajayantha said he was the Minister of Science, Technology and Research from 2015 to 2018 and that he was unaware of such a satellite being launched in Sri Lanka.(Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)

These useless opposition guys need a topic to discuss in the kopi kade' parliament..after landing chandrayaan-3 only he found out that what happened to srilanka's chichi boys toy rocket..2018,2019 india failed but never give up to succeed their ambitions..hats off to india..srilanka is still a failure, still never given up failing our future ambitions. All these thieves in the parliament stole all our money. You sajith, just dont try to be over smart by asking such questions. You should have raise this issue after chandrayaan-1 failed and before chandrayaan-3 make it successful landing on the moon. I cry looking at my beautiful country every day..where to find the future for my kids.

Sajith is displaying his knowledge on the matter after some social media posts were being circulated about the massive projects during Rajapaksha regime. These posts appeared after the Indians sent a spacecraft to the moon.
