Just be proud that a Sri Lankan origin has gone that far!

I don't think it's stupid, my children are born in Australia 45 years ago however they identify themselves as Sri lankan/ Australian.

He is of Sinhala heritage. All people of Sri Lankan origin who want free dual citizenship to our country should be provided it. It is not only brain drain but talent drain with the nationalistic and racist drive to block people of Sri Lankan heritage who get overseas citizenship from fully pariticpating in Sri Lanka activities.

"Stupid mentality ? " WE are all human beings and the World is a stage. Those thinking like this are the very one's who not only sat and watched but rubbed their hands in glee when SWRD introduced the Sinhala Only bill in the late 1950's. The consequences of those actions are very evident today. If Sri Lanka had embraced the foreign language of English and improved on it's use especially taken this universal language to our villages, our resplendent and blessed nation would indeed be the "The Miracle of Asia", but today we have become the "Beggars of Asia".

The stupid srilanka who should have been a Singapore has become a Somalia and a sri nanga due to its mentality

@Michael Obeyesekere Do they identify themselves that way because they have to explain to their dark skin to the pale skinned majority who have majority genetics from Europe? Sri Lankan generally other than emigrants who went legally to other nations are considered devious refugees in general, who burden whichever country they seek asylum in.

All the best son. You are one of the very few lucky ones whoes does not go through .... things created by the so called politiation in Sri lanka. (by the way they are kids do not live in Sri Lanka either)

Kapila E It is a fallacy that most Sri Lankans who have gone to these "developed" countries have gone there as refugees. Even if it is so, they have worked hard and contributed to the economy rather than being a burden. Some have even found high positions in the Corporate world there
