SJB should get rid of the outdated ‘Premadasa concept’ (that may have served us well in the eighties but not adequate for the modern world) and move forward with the rest of centre right parties. If Sajith is at least half smart as his father he should have realised this by himself!

Cant understand what value the old UNP can add to the SJB. The UNP is struggling with their same old deceptive ways. Now, the same is being used to cause internal rifts within the SJB. Immature SP and sneaky old RW both should step down honorably (if they know what that means) and allow a modernized leadership to counter the Govt with solid alternative policies than only with criticism and disruption which are not working. A simple reunion without drastic change wont make any difference.

The UNP could not get more than 200,000 votes all over the country excluding the CWC and the NDF votes. To hide that the UNP want to hang on some other party and protect their gentlemen dealers, rogues and thieves. NPP never had any coalition with any party or any government member and got 159. Until RW survives.they can’t come to either a compromise or memorandum of understanding. RW motive is vastly different from SPs motive they can hold lengthy discussions for months and years But no conclusion can be reached. Thus RW is hallucinating to become next incumbent president before his demise. SP is also struggling to regain his fame and dignity. If it us reunion, Sajith should take over the leadership. If this is rejected, SJB should go alone. Before any discussion to take place, SJB party members should meet and take a vote in favour of their leader whether it is Sajith or someone else and stick to this decision and not allow Ranil to remain as leader. However, a strong opposition is needed and SJB needs to find ways to win the next Presidential and General election. Good luck.
