SJB says it will form new administration of CMC with other parties

Colombo, May 7 (Daily Mirror) - Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) will form the new administration in the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) together with other parties, while the new mayor will be from our party," SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara told the media.

He said his party is ready to work with other opposition parties in the CMC and in other local bodies where the ruling NPP has not obtained a majority.

Ideally SJB should support NPP, who won the majority seats, if they are like minded on anti-corruption and clean and efficient administration. Seeking support from other corrupt parties will lead to further erosion of SJB's base in the future.

At this point of time, if the citizens of Colombo District require "workers" and not "talkers", then the SJB, Pohottuwa and UNP should get together and take over Colombo MC. This talk of "clean politics" is just a myth. We saw how the NPP government conducted "clean" governance releasing 300 red flagged containers, appointing a rogue PhD holder as the Speaker, almost destroyed Kandy city using a sacred relic for a political purpose, misused the Expressway while Police looked the other way, and Premier breached election rules, topping it all with their lies!.
