If these people have taken such a long time to understand the true calibre of this so-called leader, we can assume two things: either these guys acted totally out of self interest and self interest only or they didn't have the capacity and capability to understand what a good leadership is, making these people completely unsuitable to become people's representatives to take the country forward.

Ashoka Sepala is a nice and a honest person and done a lot to Talawakelle, for him to leave SJB means something wrong with the Leader who does not have policies at all. Hopefully Ashoka will join UNP soon and it will be a hard slap to Sajith.

There is speculation that by November, Ranil will enter parliament and many from the SJB will join him to appoint him as the leader of the opposition. Whether it's good or bad, according to the trend, it might happen. Sajith is not an intelligent but swollen headed leader. R.Premadasa, though was tough or dictatorial, wasn't swollen headed. Sajith will never be able to become the leader of Sri Lanka.

In conclusion Ranil had achieved his goals cornering Sajith. Ranil can play any dirty trick and be aside quietly. Sajith could have learnt politics from Ranil and it would have been helpful after another 20 years to at least to become a Prime Minister. Now after Ashoka's departure some more will cross-over UNP.

Ashoka Sepala too the right decision, true Sajith always plays One Man's Show and he won't correct himself neither he cannot be a Leader of our nation for decades. Best thing is isolate him and the rest too should get back to UNP and strengthen them.

According to my thinking, it was Sajith who caused the breakup of the UNP. He wanted to be the leader but Ranil realized he was not ready; as it has has been proved beyond doubt today. Sajith broke away thinking he could lead his party to victory by himself and defeat Ranil.Unfortunately, the rest of the party stalwarts also failed to see the big picture and joined SP. Most UNPers also believed this and sided with Sajith. Ranil is not a charismatic leader. He's arrogant and does not care about the sensitivities of the common man. Therefore, people don't like him. But he's far above in realizing the political vision and the development of the country, which in reality, is all he's interested in; not kissing grandmothers or carrying babies. Sajith is OK, but does not have leadership qualities or the brains of RW. Sadly, Sri Lankans are very shortsighted when it comes to politics and they will always, I mean always, vote for idiots who hide the truth and promise the sun, moon and stars.
