While saying that Sri Lanka has descended into a state of chaos, MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka reiterated that he will not join hands with the government.

He added that he would not help any efforts led by thieves.

"Ranil Wickremesinghe is no different than what he was when he worked with us. We are not here to aid corruption and robbery. We are here to develop the country with a mandate from the people," Fonseka said, responding to the President's request for the Opposition to join hands with the government.

Sarath Fonseka's short, clear statement also shows him here as a man who knows what he wants and knows what he doesn't want! As is to be expected from him, he has clear ideas about what is politically necessary and will not make any "lazy" compromises of any kind in order to get into the highest office, i.e. the presidency! I am convinced that as impressive as his military record has been for Sri Lanka in the past, so much will his dedication and struggle for the country's political "renovation" and purposeful betterment continue!!!

Unfortunately, one can only call out to some commentators, be fair in the assessment and evaluation of a man like Sarath Fonseka, who has proven his human stature and has done outstanding work for his country and the unity of the nation !!! There is no doubt that he will also serve his country as President, eliminate grievances and undesirable developments and make convincing policies! The insinuations of Fonseka's personal self-interests or craving for fame expressed here and there are not to be discussed seriously because they correspond to a personal subjectivism!

SF was a great soldier and we really appreciate his contribution to ending the war. SF however will make a lousy President or PM. He has absolutely no diplomacy and his mouth runs away before him. He will alienate all friendly countries and don't forget, the UN, USA and other Western countries will never accept him due to his human rights issues. Whether he joins RW or not is immaterial because before long he will want to run his own ship and will abandon Sajith as well. It was RW who gave him the opportunity to enter politics and look what he does. He will do the same to Sajith. He is a jealous man. full of revenge.

The statements made in a commentary by Fonseka that he would be a "lousy president" and an undiplomatic talker who, in particular, Western countries would not accept because of human rights problems, can easily be refuted because they are highly questionable allegations that, in my opinion, lack any solid basis !!! Real human rights violations were committed by former President Gota with the consent of his brother Mahinda, especially in the final stages of the war! And most importantly made public by Fonseka! There are no such accusations from Fonseka! A possible non-acceptance of Fonseka as President of Sri Lanka by the West is beyond all reality, the opposite is true!
