SC introduces card payment transactions for court payments

Colombo, September 10 (Daily Mirror)- The introduction of card transaction facilities to the court system, as a preliminary step toward automating public payments, took place today at the Supreme Court premises under the patronage of Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena.

With the automation of this payment system, all payments from Magistrates’ Courts to the Supreme Court including court fines, case fees, stamp duties and fees for certified copies, will in future be processed through card and online payment systems.

Lawyers and members of the public are now able to make payments for Supreme Court proceedings conveniently using both debit and credit cards, with immediate effect.
