Colombo, Sep 10 (Daily Mirror)- The Education Ministry has allocated Rs. 500 million as a school-based grant under the Secondary Education Sector Improvement Program (SESIP) for 2025, to purchase equipment and chemicals for Category 1AB and 1C school laboratories across the country.
According to the Ministry’s Science Division, the funds are currently being credited to the accounts of School Development Societies, with allocations determined based on student enrollment.
Each school will receive a maximum of Rs. 1 million and a minimum of Rs. 40,000 under the scheme.
The initiative aims to strengthen practical science education and enhance laboratory infrastructure, in line with the government’s broader educational reforms.
