Colombo, Feb 27 (Daily Mirror) - The former government had paid Rs. 28 million as compensation to famous soothsayer Gnana Akka for the damages to her house and shrine during the Aragalaya period, Chief Government Whip Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said today.

he told Parliament that the previous government had paid Rs. 1,121 million as compensation to local government politicians in addition to the Rs. 1,221 million paid to the MPs and Ministers.

He said 14 Presidential Commissions had been appointed during the previous regime and that Rs. 530.1 million had been spent for these commissions.

List Nalinda back in action. If it is illegal why dont you take legal action. What did you do to luxury vehicles, what did you do to bar permits issues, what did you do to compensation paid to politicians. Nothing right. Just wasting time and money with lists. Gnana Akka was more powerful than Ministers in NPP Government. All the Nilames had decided not to hold Dalada Perahera but she made Nilames change their mind. Gnana Akka could have brought Anju Mandran to Sri Lanka if she was asked to do so. NPP Ministers cannot do that.
