Colombo, March 04 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Police have announced a Rs. 1.2 million reward for information leading to the arrest of a female suspect linked to the killing of underworld figure ‘Ganemulla Sanjeewa’.

Ganemulla Sanjeewa was gunned down on February 19, 2025, inside the No. 05 Magistrate’s Court at the Hulftsdorp Courts Complex.

While investigations are ongoing, authorities have yet to locate the female accomplice involved in the killing.

In a statement, the Police Media Division urged the public to provide any credible information that could aid in the suspect’s capture.

I will give Rs. 10 million if the Police can prove they have the capability, professionalism and competence to maintain complete confidentiality and protect the informant for his life time from getting slaughtered in broad day light in the presence of full security detail and inside a fully protected zone like a high court in the manner Ganemulla Sanjeewa was eliminated.

If a former IGP is absconding arrest by Police because he is scared that he may be asked to take the Police to show weapons, how can an ordinary person surrender to the Police as she knows that she too will be taken to a place to show weapons. Instead of offering Rs 1.2 million for the information leading to her arrest, assure her that she will not be asked to take her to a place to show weapons, and then she will surrender in no time.
