Royal College put themselves in a good position to reclaim the D. S. Senanayake Shield reducing S. Thomas' College to 43 for 3 in 15 overs, in pursuit of a target of 342.
Ranuka Malaviarachchi, Bulan Weeratunga and Sandesh Ramanayake shared the wickets between them, with S. Thomas' now facing an uphill task to win draw the match.
Malaviarachchi had Thisen Eheliyagoda trapped leg before wicket in the first over of the innings.
Weeratunga then accounted for the wicket of Thomian skipper Romesh Mendis, also out leg before wicket, for 12 before Dineth Goonawardena was caught for 15 off the bowling of Ramanayake
